are some biographies of me online, but I think is more important is that
you get a mayor who will do your bidding.
Someone who wants to listen to you, and does not have
hidden agenda of his own.
This mayoral election is not about élites or
even issuesit is about putting power back in the hands of Wellingtonians.
The official part is this: I was born in Hong Kong in 1972, and maintain
dual KiwiBritish nationality.
I went to school here in Wellington, and have lived
in Newtown, Kilbirnie and Rongotai.
I graduated from Vic with three degrees, including a
bachelors in law and a masters in commerce. I run three companies:
Jack Yan & Associates, Lucire
and the Medinge Group.
I was the first digital
typeface designer in New Zealand and one of the first internet publishers.
I co-wrote Beyond Branding, wrote Typography
and Branding, and contributed most recently to Nation Branding:
Concepts and Country Perspectives. You
can see my books here, some
articles here, and some
speeches here. Ive been interviewed locally on TV1, TV3 and
CTV, and by CNN, The Daily Telegraph, The South China Morning Post
